Professional Summary
Stefi N. George provides a variety of services for the firm’s clientele. She represents corporations and individuals in all areas of tax practice and planning. She negotiates with and argues before the Internal Revenue Service and New York State Department of Taxation on behalf of clients and participates in cases before the United States Tax Court and other related proceedings. She also works on corporate acquisitions and other corporate transactions. She frequently assists with financial transactions, and drafts financial documents on behalf of lending institutions, including secured and unsecured loans, term and revolving credit facilities and other financing.
While at Fordham Law School, Ms. George worked in the Fordham Tax Clinic, where she represented low-income taxpayers against the Internal Revenue Service. She amended and filed tax returns and negotiated on behalf of clients to obtain various deductions and credits. Ms. George was specially admitted to the United States Tax Court in November 2005 to represent a client against the Internal Revenue Service. Ms. George was also an Associate Editor of the Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial Law.
